FROM MAID TO MANAGER

Ongezwa Kholosa Nododile was working as a maid, and then decided to take the WORK 4 A LIVING course, she was later selected to take part in the first SERV With Excellence program in November 2015. After the training she was given the opportunity at Kwantu Game Reserve as an intern in December for three months.

At the beginning of March she was confirmed as a permanent employee and has now been promoted to Laundry Manager.

Congratulations Ongezwa, you have shown us all that hard work and dedication pays off.

This is a Month Long intensive programme that involves both theory and practical.

This course teaches our students to serve with humility, sophistication and absolute 5-star excellence with skills in Housekeeping, Front-desk and Waitron. This course is geared to teach excellence in the Hospitality Industry. Our focus is unashamedly on the Character of the Individual as well as the skills required for this Industry. Without a willingness to serve people as a core of who we are, we will never have true excellent customer service.

GRAIN

This is a Month Long intensive programme that involves both theory and practical (This include a Two week Practical in a Retail Bakery)

This class equips our students to work as Artisan (specialist) bakers in a full industrial kitchen. Artisan baking is a scarce skill so this is a great opportunity for people who love baking and want to make a career of it in the retail sector or hospitality sector.

Baristas found employment themselves

Graduates immediately funnel into an internship and potential job at a national Wimpy cafe.

“When I started with Red Band, I only knew instant coffee- I had no idea what coffee was about! But I’ve fallen in love with barista coffee cause it’s not just about ‘coffee’… it brings joy to people and that gives me enjoyment.”

Drico completed WORK 4 A LIVING in 2014 and went on to graduate from the Red Band Barista Academy. He has been working in the industry since.
